Enjoy the view from the rooftop—the best seats in the house. A report on the “Yodogawa Fireworks Event” at Terminals Shin-Osaka

When it comes to fireworks festivals in the Kansai region, the “Yodogawa Fireworks Festival” is probably the first one that comes to mind.
While it’s usually held in August, this year’s event took place in October, making it a fireworks festival to enjoy while soaking in the autumn atmosphere.

Terminals Shin-Osaka, which opened in August 2025, is located near the Yodogawa River—the launch site—and features a spacious rooftop terrace. Taking advantage of this prime location, we planned a joint opening event to coincide with the “Yodogawa Fireworks Festival”!

Rather than just “watching” the fireworks—a rare treat—we used the event as an “opportunity” to bring people together and create a time for building connections.

This time, Taguchi, a sales representative at Terminals Shin-Osaka, brings you photos capturing the lively atmosphere of the evening!

Behind-the-Scenes Prep! A Special Day Created with Our Residents

With the goal of making this fireworks festival a place for residents to connect, we worked closely with them on the planning from the very beginning.
The property opened in August 2025, marking the start of a new chapter in residents’ lives, and we wanted to create a space that would serve as a catalyst for connection. When we discussed this idea at the property, a resident approached us and said, “I’d love to help!”—and that’s how our collaborative planning began.

Although the event planning began with just that one offer, in the end, about 10 residents came together to help! I felt that when so many people rally behind someone’s “desire to do something,” that truly embodies the spirit of a “social apartment.”

We also received many ideas from the residents themselves—such as “I’d like to try making festival-style food from food stalls” and “Having drinks might help everyone relax and get to know each other better”—and we worked together to make the preparations.
On the day of the event, they took the lead in setting up the viewing area on the rooftop and preparing drinks.

We also served “Highly Lively IPA” from LIVELY HOTELS, operated by Global Agents. We provided some light snacks, and everyone waited for the fireworks in a lively and cheerful atmosphere.

In the communal lounge on the first floor, we even saw residents preparing festival-style food in honor of the fireworks display! We also witnessed them serving the food to the guests they had invited that day.

The ability to invite friends and family is one of the defining features of a social apartment. It was impressive to see residents happily inviting their friends and family and showing them around the common areas, such as the lounge and workspace.
Seeing the circle of interaction expand—between guests themselves and between residents and guests—made me realize right away that Terminals Shin-Osaka is already becoming a place for new connections.

As the sun began to set and the 7:30 p.m. celebration drew near, everyone gathered one after another on the rooftop, eagerly awaiting the moment.

A Night of Pure Luxury: Enjoying the Yodogawa Fireworks All to Yourself on Your Own Rooftop

With guests included, a total of about 100 people gathered, and finally, the fireworks began!
From the spacious rooftop terrace, we had an unobstructed, stunning view of the Yodo River fireworks, and everyone was mesmerized by the view from these truly prime seats.

Every time the fireworks lit up the night sky, cheers and applause erupted.
It was a moment that made me truly appreciate once again the beauty of “the scenery where the nature of the Yodo River meets the skyscrapers of Umeda.”

“I can’t believe I get to sit here and watch the fireworks so closely! I’d love to invite my friends to watch them with me next year.”

The sight of residents chatting with smiles against the backdrop of this special night view is the very essence of the “extraordinary experience” that social apartments provide.

Even after the fireworks ended, the residents—still buzzing with excitement—continued chatting in the first-floor lounge. We saw bonds deepening as people who had just met exchanged contact information and made new plans, such as, “Let’s play a game together in the lounge sometime!”
What was particularly impressive about this event was how everyone took the initiative to clean up afterward.
Seeing them take the initiative to collect trash and wipe down tables really brought home the warmth of the community.

When staff asked residents about the community atmosphere, they learned that, in addition to having already hosted an opening party organized by the residents themselves, opportunities for people to gather naturally—such as dinner parties centered around a hot plate—have been emerging.

We were told that the opening party included activities designed to help residents get to know one another, such as a quiz contest about the residents themselves.

They also told us they’re looking forward to enjoying upcoming seasonal events, such as Christmas and Valentine’s Day, together. We organized this fireworks festival in the hope that it would serve as a catalyst to further invigorate the community at Terminals Shin-Osaka, and seeing all the participants interacting with smiles on their faces was the best reward of all.

New properties have the advantage that, since the community is built from scratch, residents tend to bond quickly. Another appealing aspect is that everyone feels like they’re part of the same “cohort,” making it easy to build new relationships without anxiety.
