Welcome Party" for tenants by tenants held by SHINKAN Project|3 award-winning properties
Spring is the time of year when social apartments are filled with newcomers, and the hallways and common areas are filled with a lively cross section of "Nice to meet you" voices. When we see an unfamiliar face, we often hear a reassuring "Hey, it's nice to meet you, isn't it? and some existing tenants offer reassuring assistance.
Our sales staff always tell prospective tenants during previews, "In the first month, you should visit the common areas anyway. Try to be brave and say hello. However, it is not uncommon for people to feel uneasy at first, wondering who to talk to and when to talk to them, even after they have visited the lounge.
In order to invite "a welcome party by tenants for tenants," we held the "SHINKAN Project" again this year, following its launch last year!
Residents of many properties reported how they had a fun-filled party involving new tenants! The award-winning properties were "nice! Here are some of the "nice" events held at the award-winning properties! (* In no particular order)
The prize for getting to know each other at the Lounge Expo (Terminals Takatsuki)
17 participants|65% new resident participation rate
At Terminal's Takatsuki in Osaka, each participant was involved in the creation of the event by bringing their own food and beverages, and it was a two birds with one stone event that gave each participant a unique personality.
Osaka's Expo '70, which was held last year, is still fresh in our memories. By bringing in food, drinks, juices, and other items from around the world, they created a multinational space just like the Expo while still being in the lounge!
In order for new and existing residents to get to know each other better, they were asked to fill out a self-introduction sheet with their name, hobbies, what they want to do in SA, MBTI, and the food and drink they brought, as well as the country they are from, all in advance. To enable first-timers to get to know each other and deepen exchanges while having fun, they also incorporated elements such as "Interesting Award," "International Award," and "Getting to Know Each Other Award.
There were people who made cakes and other desserts by hand the day before, and others who prepared beer servers even though they did not participate on the day of the event. Regardless of whether they participated or not on the day of the event, their attitude of "welcoming new residents" in various ways was warm!
The prize for making me like the area & home I will live with even more (Social Apartment Funabashi)
Number of participants: 15|New resident participation rate: 66
Social Apartment Funabashi in Chiba Prefecture has a very nice inclusive mindset. New residents who knew it would be difficult to participate on the day of the event were able to help out from the planning stage to deepen exchanges with new residents.
The warmth of the homey atmosphere - taking advantage of the food shopping time to hold a "shopping party" with the new residents to walk around the neighborhood and head to the supermarket, and even giving them a guided tour of the area. Sometimes, the secret shortcut to the supermarket or information on the living environment around SA is wisdom of daily life that you know only because you actually live there, and you wish you had known about it earlier. So it is a relief and a pleasure to be able to explore together in this way....
We devised a one-night-only drink menu with a variety of non-alcoholic cocktails for those who cannot drink alcohol to enjoy. What a surprise, since the cocktails were made while there were no members who knew much about cocktails, the contents became more exciting than expected with a great deal of fuss from the shaking of the shaker (laugh).
Then, not wanting to waste time with mere self-introductions, a game was held in which participants predicted and announced **"things that only you and one other person might have experienced "**, incorporating a game element. The process of exploring each other's unexpected commonalities naturally stimulated conversation, so much so that the other project that had been prepared for the event had to be postponed, but it was so exciting that the time was lost.
Special Prize|All the participants were first-term students, and they all had a great trip together (Neighbors Haneda)
Number of participants: 18
Neighbors Haneda newly opened on March 28 this year! Even though some of the residents were busy moving and some of them are still getting to know each other, we are sending a special award to everyone who organized a wonderful event.
This was a newcomer's party held at a historic moment that will never be repeated. The event was held in a completely flat relationship made possible by the fact that we were all at ground zero: "All of us are in the same year, and all of us are new to each other. Some were first-time social apartment residents, some were repeaters from other social apartments, and the property is unique in that it is packed with people from diverse backgrounds.
The name of the property "Neighbors Haneda" = In reference to its location at Haneda (airport), the theme was set to **"All Japan Furusato Flight "**. It looks like a very fun way to present the whole event with aviation terms such as "boarding, takeoff, and flight schedule."
Niigata nokpe-jiru, Shizuoka tea, Osaka okonomiyaki, Nara sasazushi, Okayama kibidango, Kochi sake, Oita toriten & karaage, Horumon yakisoba, Kagoshima shochu, etc. - from north to south, a diverse lineup of food and beverages filled the dining tables like a buffet, The lounge was transformed into an "antenna store for all of Japan.
After the SHINKAN event, the organizer said
"The greatest achievement of this event was that these 18 people became the core community of Neighbors Haneda and created a strong will and foundation of relationships that will drive future exchanges throughout the property."
We look forward to seeing new cultural synergies and ways of interacting created by everyone with diverse backgrounds in the future!
Cash back prize money - ¥50,000!
Following last year's event, we received reports and applications from even more properties this year! We have selected three properties among them that showed the unity, ingenuity, and excitement of welcoming each other for the cash-back prize, which was set at a "maximum of 50,000 yen.
The "SHINKAN Project" will continue to be held on a regular basis, targeting a time when new tenants are moving in at a concentrated pace. We hope that this will be an opportunity for us to become a home where we can warmly welcome each other with a "Nice to meet you" throughout the year, regardless of the time of year!
Editor's Postscript.
This spring, just in time for the spring moving season, two new social apartments opened and we were able to welcome many new friends once again. Even the residents who were hurriedly unpacking their belongings sometimes gathered in the lounge for a break.
After introducing themselves, "Nice to meet you," a voice was heard saying, "How about takoyaki tonight? I heard a voice say, "Let's make takoyaki tonight. On an ordinary weekday. Since I was going to go out of my way, I decided to ask for group messages as well. I also invited people I passed in the hallway. The way the circle naturally expanded from such a small voice was very Social Apartment-like, and it made me feel happy to see it.
Social Apartment welcomes new residents at any time of the year, not just in the spring. If we could say "Nice to meet you" to each other and "Join us if you like," the world would probably expand beyond our imagination. I hope so.
