Creating a place where everyone can shine at something - Social Summer Outing -TEPPEN FESTA-.

The annual major summer event " Social Summer Outing " was held again this year!
This year again, we invited nearly 3,000 Social Apartment tenants to participate in the event, and we were able to make their "I'd like to try it! The "Social Summer Outing" was held in the form of a realization of the residents' "I want to do it!

Following last year's " East-West Mixed Music Festival, " those who raised their hands and said, "I am the one! This year marks the ninth year that Neighbors Musashi Nakahara has been a Social Apartment resident!

He has been living in a social apartment since March 2017 and has spent a quarter of his life in a social apartment.

He is one of the tenants who have been enjoying the social life of Social Apartment by organizing various events both within the property and between properties. He has organized various events such as a futsal tournament with a total of 200 people, sleepovers at an abandoned school, and seasonal camps.

He has been living in social apartments for many years, and he has packed the space of Social Summer Outing with " how to enjoy social apartments " that he knows only from his experience of living in three different properties!

At TEPPEN FESTA, we want to create a place where people from all walks of life can shine.

This year's Social Summer Outing was filled with such aspirations of Ms. Anyan.
In addition to the stage performances in which residents show off their specialties and favorite things, a mini game was also planned in which everyone who participated in the event that day competed for "TEPPEN" so that they could aim for the top of the mountain in "something" and shine.

Social Apartment is home to a wide variety of residents, many of whom have diverse hobbies, skills, and specialties. The wide range of interests and hobbies of the tenants will be reflected in the games, such as "I didn't know I had this kind of skill! or "I didn't know you could do this! We are often surprised by the wide range of interests and hobbies of our residents.

In order to put everyone in the spotlight and give them a place to shine, we prepared six mini-games: a quick-push quiz, an intro quiz, a Smash Bros. showdown, a muscle showdown, a karaoke battle, and a dance battle.

To participate in the game you want to play, vote for your entry form in the ballot box before the game starts!

First, a quick quiz! The range of questions was so broad that there were times when respondents were at a loss for answers, but the winners were awarded prizes unique to the "quick-push quiz"!

Next was the intro quiz! The questions were a collection of various songs, ranging from recent popular songs to nostalgic melodies. Not only the respondents but also the audience joined in and listened intently! I wonder if there were some songs mixed in that everyone had heard in lounges, on trips, at festivals, etc.?

Next up was a Smash Bros. showdown, a common sight in the common area lounge at Social Apartment! What a surprise, it was accompanied by a live broadcast. The challenger, who was so focused that his posture was slumped forward and his mouth was open, could hear the enthusiastic cheering of his fellow spectators behind him as he battled in serious competition. The winner of the tournament was presented with a Nintendo gift certificate!

The second half of the tournament started with a muscle showdown! Not a few of the residents must be engaged in muscle training, pouring protein into their bodies, and making and eating chicken ham on a regular basis...so an arm wrestling duel was held with the prize of protein on the line.

Then there was a karaoke battle! The residents rushed to a nearby karaoke bar late at night, saying, "Just for an hour! There must have been a song that everyone sang together or a special number that they have often performed. The winner was the challenger who beautifully sang "Oreta Tokyo Sagyoguda" by Kichiikuzo in a powerful voice!

The final event of the day was the dance battle, a high-stakes challenge in which contestants improvised dances to music selected by the DJ. The audience was captivated by the flexibility, power, and fun of the dancers from different genres!

Dance & Band Stage Performance

The audience was again attracted by the one-day performance by three groups of dancers and three groups of musicians, and the place was abuzz with excitement! They had practiced hard for this day!

All three groups performed solo. The dynamic and captivating way they used the space to its fullest made the audience want to watch them all the time!

The band lineup was slightly changed, but many of those who made the venue exciting last year made a comeback and performed a different side of the band and different songs from last year!

Three booths to inform, fascinate, and fill your stomach

The first is "Secret Writers," who write down in words the moments in the life of a social apartment and what they felt there, and the author does not disclose them to the public. Originally held regularly at Neighbors Higashi Jujo, "Secret Writer" was now opened to the public as the Social Summer Outing edition. The words of the various residents gave us a glimpse of their time in the social apartments, from the "aha" moments of living in a social apartment to the different experiences of living in a social apartment for each person!

The theme of Secret Writer #SSO was "How to start, continue, and end social apartment living.

The second was a stall selling handmade goods such as baked goods and accessories. A team formed by three residents from different properties who met through the "Circle," which connects nearly 3,000 Social Apartment residents, delivered carefully crafted baked goods ranging from recently trendy tufted accessories!

The third was a very popular food stall that served omelettes at last year's Social Summer Outing and had a long line of customers throughout the event. This time, it was back with offerings of spiced curry, rou rohan, and chai pudding. The food looked, felt, and tasted outstandingly satisfying!

Friends" increasing with ALL GUEST ACTIVITY

When tenants gather from nearly 50 properties, there are many "new friends". Some came with friends from their properties, and some came alone.

This time, in order to get everyone to mix and mingle and increase the number of "friends," we asked Mr. Anyan to come up with the ALL GUEST ACTIVITY as well!

It was a very simple game in which each person had to think of an answer to a question, and then search the masses for " friends"who thought of the same answer. Even so, the answers were surprisingly divided, and it was difficult to find "friends," so the venue was filled with residents calling out to each other within the time limit!

The event was packed with a lot of contents and lasted for 7 hours, but many residents and alumni came to enjoy themselves from the start to the close of the event!

At the end of the event, the DJ had everyone in the venue spontaneously dancing to the music - and we gave them the spotlight as well.

What kind of Social Summer Outing can we bring you next year?
It depends on the ideas of our residents! We are waiting for the next "planner"!

Extra: Announcement! Super Planner" Anyan's Next Challenge

The challenge of "Super Planner" Anyan continues! His next project is "Re: MUSIC CAMP," the largest event of its kind, where he will rent out an entire campsite in Chiba Prefecture.

This is a collaborative project with the two members of "Mixed" ( Part 1 / Part 2 ), who planned and directed last year's Social Summer Outing 2024. Just imagining the creative ideas of the two members of "Mixed", who create the best space by involving various people, and Anyan's originality and creativity... I can't stop getting excited!

Please come and take a peek at the "unweaveable space" created by these three people who have teamed up to create the best of both worlds, outside of the Social Apartment! We are sure that new encounters, new discoveries, new creations, and a lot of fun will be waiting for you there.

Editor's Postscript

Living together and sharing time together, we are sometimes reminded of the "charm of each individual" in a moment of time. There is something they are good at, something they have been devoted to and refined, something they can work hard at. It seems that many of the residents we meet at Social Apartment are like that. And the more we learn about them, the more we enjoy meeting new friends and getting to know each one of them more deeply, which is a pleasure that is hard to stop.

I can't wait to see what kind of residents I will be able to work with next summer to create Social Summer Outing from scratch, and what kind of encounters I will have with them.
