Neighbors Rooms" is a series of articles introducing the life-sized rooms of social apartment residents. This time, we visited "Sen-chan," a resident of Neighbors Esaka.

Sen-chan works as a secretary for a manufacturer and has been living in a second location this year as a second working space. We went to Neighbors Esaka to see her room, which is a simple white space where she can concentrate on her work.

We went to Neighbors Esaka to see her room and ask her about her life at Neighbors Esaka, while she answered our questions about what makes her room special.

Let's go to Sen-chan's room!

--Thank you for showing us your room right away! I got the impression that it was simple with few things, and that it was all white. Do you have a theme for your room?

Sen-chan: " This is what I got when I decluttered..." (laughs).

She says she has created a simple and lean space by "decluttering. The warm lighting and wood materials on the inorganic concrete floor make for a comfortable living environment.

▲Uniformity of white and simple interior design

Another key point is that they have placed shelves in the hallway inside the room that match the depth of the shoe boxes to keep things organized.

--▲What are some of the points you are trying to design in your room?

Sen-chan: I place furniture as close to the wall as possible to make it feel spacious. The compactness of the room has allowed me to declutter and become a minimalist (laughs).

In order to make the limited space look bigger, we created a simple and open space by not having unnecessary things. Placing tall objects or dark colors can make the space feel oppressive, so they tried to make it feel as spacious as possible by integrating low beds and white furniture. In addition, they have changed from a TV to a projector in order to reduce the number of things as much as possible.

--Do you have a collection of things?

Sen-chan: I have a collection of colorful stationery. Also, although it is not a collection, I recently bought a projector.

Sen-chan basically likes simple designs, but stationery is special for her. She collects colorful and fun stationery to motivate her to study and work.

She has also taken advantage of the pure white walls to project a projector in place of a screen, allowing her to enjoy movies on a large screen from the comfort of her own room.

▲TV to projector. The projector does not need to be constantly grounded like a TV, and can be taken out when you want to use it, simplifying the space. In addition, you can enjoy images on a larger screen than a TV.

--▲What is your favorite place in your room?

Sen-chan: I like the space between the balcony and the bed.

The room faces south and gets a lot of sunlight, so the balcony side is a particular favorite space. Taking advantage of the good sunlight, she has tried her hand at houseplants. He enjoys eating ice cream and reading a book while looking out at the view every day.

--Do you have any items that are unique to Social Apartment tenants?

Sen-chan: I never exercised before, so I guess it would be muscle training goods.

She started going to Pilates, yoga, and boxing gyms with other tenants when she moved in. It is difficult to start and continue alone, but with other residents, she is able to continue and now it has become her hobby.

How is life in a social apartment? Interview with Sen-chan

--Sen-chan: What made you decide to move to a social apartment?

Sen-chan: I found Neighbors Esaka when I was looking for a place with a lounge space, and I moved in.

She decided to live in a social apartment in search of a property with a shared lounge. At Neighbors Esaka, he found it attractive that he could work in the main lounge, a working lounge, and a private room, choosing the location according to his mood.

--What made you choose Neighbors Esaka among the social apartments?

Sen-chan: I guess it was because the lounge, workspace, and other shared facilities were nice, and also because it was clean and safe, like a hotel. Also, since I basically live alone, I liked the fact that I can live as a single person without having to use the lounge and other shared facilities.

In addition to the spacious common area, the kitchen is equipped with these latest appliances, and the lounge is clean and neat 24 hours a day, thanks to regular cleaning by a dedicated housekeeper.

While spending time as a single person, the environment allows residents to socialize in the shared space and with other residents at their own leisure, making it ideal for those who value both privacy and companionship.

--After actually living here, are there any differences from what you expected before moving in? Please tell us about any changes in your life as well.

Sen-chan: I thought I would spend most of my time alone, but there are many kind and pleasant residents, and I enjoy going out with them on holidays and cooking meals with them. At Neighbors Esaka, I was able to experience new values through interacting with residents of various occupations, ages, and nationalities. I also naturally had more opportunities to study English.

Sen-chan initially decided to move in thinking mainly of using the coworking space, but once she moved in, she found that she enjoyed socializing more than she expected and made many friends with whom she talked on a daily basis and went out together.

--Sen-chan: Please give us your tips on how to make a good apartment for prospective tenants!

Sen-chan: Please take this opportunity to declutter and organize unused items (laughs)!

Many of the rooms in the social apartments are compact, so the first thing to do is to organize what you already have and declutter what you don't need. It would be good to take the opportunity of moving in to make a fresh start and get organized.

--What would you like to say to those who are considering moving into a social apartment?

Sen-chan: I feel very happy to have experienced Social Apartment once in my life. We are looking forward to spending time with you!

...

We brought you a room tour from Sen-chan's room. Neighbors Esaka is a great place for those who want to balance work and private life like Sen-chan. We will be back next time to show you another resident's room, so please look forward to it!
