Hello! I’m Shoji, and I handle contract management at Global Agents, which operates social apartments.

In March 2026, our long-awaited new property, “Neighbors Haneda,” will open! It’s located near Haneda Airport, in the “Kojiya” area on the Keikyu Airport Line.

“The access seems great, but what’s the neighborhood actually like to live in?” I’m sure many of you have that question.

So this time, I teamed up with our sales representative, Kikuchi, to take a walk from Kojiya Station to Neighbors Haneda
to get a feel for the neighborhood’s atmosphere and livability.

We’ll give you a thorough introduction to everything from a map of daily life essentials around Kojiya Station—including supermarkets, shopping spots, and hospitals—to the renowned shops in the locally beloved shopping district.◎
Whether you’re thinking of starting a new life at “Neighbors Haneda” or are just a little curious about the neighborhood of Kojiya,
Please join us on this stroll through the neighborhood and read along to the very end!

What kind of neighborhood is Kojiya?

HNDエリア紹介1
Kojiya is conveniently located with easy access to Haneda Airport and the Shinagawa area, yet it retains its traditional shopping streets, and the area around the station exudes a nostalgic, old-town atmosphere.

The neighborhood’s intimate scale is another of its charms.
Centered around the station, supermarkets, drugstores, and medical facilities are all within walking distance, and the peace of mind that comes from having everything you need right nearby makes this a very livable neighborhood.

Even though it’s close to the city center, the atmosphere here is incredibly laid-back.
As someone from the countryside, I felt a strange sense of reassurance, as if I had returned to my hometown.

Kojiya is a neighborhood where you can step away from the hustle and bustle of the city, relax, and experience a sense of calm and the warmth of its people.

“Kojiya Area Map”: A Guide to Convenient Local Spots

HNDエリア紹介2
One of the best things about living in Kojiya is that all the facilities you need for daily life are concentrated within walking distance.

For this feature, we created an original map centered around Neighbors Haneda, highlighting supermarkets, medical facilities, restaurants, and more.
As you can see from the map, Kojiya has an abundance of supermarkets and produce stores.

With more than 10 stores scattered from the station area to the vicinity of the properties, you’ll be spoiled for choice when deciding where to shop.

When we asked locals for recommendations during our visit, everyone unanimously mentioned a produce shop called “Yaochō.” This popular shop is known for selling slightly imperfect fruits and vegetables—the kind that supermarkets can’t carry—at incredibly low prices.
If residents cook together using vegetables bought here, it would be a great way to save money!

Another spot you can’t miss in Kojiya is the fresh fish specialty shop “Uoetsu.”
It was impressive to see customers lining up even before the store opened, and as soon as the shutters went up, they were swept into the store one after another.

Inside, the selection includes not only standard fish but also rare seafood and sashimi platters—everything looked so delicious that the entire staff agreed, “We want to buy some to take home!”
With the Ota Market nearby, easy access to fresh seafood is a unique charm of Kojiya.

The shopping district also has plenty of drugstores and daily-necessities shops, so you can rest assured even when you need to “pick up a few extra items” or “run out of laundry detergent.”
There’s also a Daiso Kojiya store right in front of the station, making it easy to pick up household items and kitchen goods.

It’s also a big plus that when you host a party in the Neighbors Haneda common lounge, you can quickly pick up any necessary supplies at Daiso.
In Kojiya, supermarkets, produce stands, fishmongers, drugstores, and household goods stores are all within walking distance, so you’ll never have trouble with your daily shopping.
Whether you’re picking up a few items on your way home from work or doing a big shop on your day off, you can take care of everything right in the neighborhood.

Shops Beloved by Locals Found in the Kojiya Shopping District

Kojiya’s appeal isn’t limited to just the convenience of shopping.

The shopping street is lined with shops—from long-standing local favorites to newly opened cafes—that you’ll want to stop by as part of your daily life.
In this post, I’ll introduce five of these shops that I actually visited on foot.

Friends (📍 8-minute walk from Kojiya Station)

“Friends” is a traditional Chinese restaurant in Kojiya that has been beloved for years. It’s a popular spot that always comes up when you ask locals for recommendations.
This time, three of us from the staff visited and ordered soy sauce ramen, gyoza, stir-fried vegetables, and fried rice.

Every dish had a light, subtle flavor, and we polished off the entire meal while sharing. What stood out the most was the “Homemade Pickled Napa Cabbage Fried Rice,” available only during the winter.
The savory aroma of the rice blended perfectly with the tangy and umami-rich flavors of the pickled napa cabbage, creating a simple yet addictive taste.

Seeing local regulars come in one after another really drove home just how beloved this place is in the community.

Mimolette (📍6-minute walk from Kojiya Station)

“Mimolette” is a popular local bakery located right in the heart of the Kojiya Shopping District. On the day of our visit, the aroma of freshly baked bread wafted through the shopping district from early in the morning.
Inside the shop, shelves are lined with sliced bread and filled-bread varieties, but the freshly fried bread is especially popular.

Ota Ward is said to be the “birthplace of fried bread,” and at this shop, you can enjoy flavors that carry on that tradition.

This time, we ordered three varieties: “Kinako,” “Sato,” and “Bobsleigh Fried Bread.”
The fried bread, with its subtle sweetness and fluffy texture, was so delicious that we couldn’t help but reach for another piece.

LYNO (📍1-minute walk from Kojiya Station)

“LYNO” is a new coffee stand that just opened at the entrance to the Kojiya Shopping Street. It’s a hot spot that just opened in November 2025, and its wood-grain exterior gives off a particularly bright atmosphere even within the shopping street.

This time, I ordered coffee and a matcha latte. The aromatic dark-roast coffee had a pleasant, clean bitterness, while the matcha latte was smooth with a gentle sweetness.

What really stood out was the staff’s friendly and approachable demeanor. Even though it was my first visit, they welcomed me so warmly that before I knew it, I’d ended up chatting with them for quite a while.
I have a feeling this is set to become Kojiya’s “new go-to café.”

Tane-Sen Kojiya Branch (📍3-minute walk from Kojiya Station)

Located in a corner of the Kojiya Shopping District, “Tanechi Kojiya Branch” is a long-established Japanese confectionery shop that has been beloved by locals for many years. Inside the calm and inviting shop, seasonal Japanese sweets and dango are beautifully displayed.

During my visit, I bought some mitarashi dango. The chewy texture, combined with the sweet-and-salty sauce that clung to them, was absolutely delicious. It’s perfect for eating on the go, and it’s an easy place to stop by when you want to take a break.

Umaichi Butcher Shop (📍3-minute walk from Kojiya Station)

“Umaichi Butcher Shop” has long been a favorite in the shopping district.By evening, a crowd gathers outside the shop. While walking through the Kojiya Shopping District, I found myself drawn in by the fragrant aroma of fried foods and couldn’t help but stop. In addition to selling fresh meat, the prepared foods section at the front of the store is incredibly popular. Come evening, long lines form as people wait for freshly fried croquettes.

The signature croquettes feature a crispy coating and a fluffy interior. The gentle sweetness of the potatoes combined with the savory flavor of the ground meat creates a taste you’ll never get tired of. While many people enjoy eating them right there on the spot, I also saw plenty of locals taking them home to serve as a side dish for dinner.

Summary

What I felt after actually walking around was that Kojiya isn’t just a “convenient neighborhood”—it’s a “neighborhood where people are close to one another.” The greetings exchanged in the shopping district and the lively voices from the prepared-food shops.
I felt that this neighborhood, with its warm atmosphere, is a perfect fit for life in a social apartment complex that values human connections.

Share seasonal ingredients bought at the produce stand in the lounge, or head home with a housemate after work, croquette in hand.

Access to the city center, the warmth of the old downtown neighborhood, and new encounters—all in one place. Why not start a new life that’s uniquely yours here?
With the opening scheduled for March 2026, be sure to check back for the latest updates!
